Government & Community Relations Assistant
Grandis Timber Co Ltd., is a commercial reforestation company funded from Denmark, focused on establishment of timber plantations on previously deforested lands on Economic Land Concession (ELC) located in Kampong Spue province. We are the first FSCTM certified in Cambodia since 2013 due to our highly responsibilities for social and environmental safeguard as well as maintaining community relations. We have been working in Cambodia since 2009 for a merchantable tree plantation establishment. We are currently looking for a qualified candidate to fill in a position as below:
Government & Community Relations Assistant (GCR-A) - Base at site in Kampong Speu
Key responsibilities
- Assisting GCRM to maintain a good relation with local authority as well as community and
Solve any matters in regarding to community complaint that may happen
- Assisting GCRM to organize training or meeting with stakeholders as well as security that may need in order to build up capacity for securing the concession
- Assisting in developing monthly activity work plan with security team in order guard on the concession to ensure all compartments and trees are not devastated or damaged
- Local community focal point engagement for quarterly meeting in order to hear about community feeling on Grandis Timber Ltd., operations, collecting community complaints from the suggestion box within weekly/ monthly basis
- Assisting monitoring and reporting all the land issues that may happen at the compartments of company in accordance with company SOPs
- Assist in risk management; identify, plan mitigation, implement follow up plans in term of community relations and engagement Perform other task that may assign by GCRM.
Job requirements:
- Graduated from agriculture, forestry, socio-economic, community development, public administration, law or related fields
- At least 2 years experiences in related to community development, problem solving, land issue resolution is an advantage
- Demonstrated experience on community capacity building, partner coordination implementation, teamwork, community engagement is a plus
- Familiarity with Royal Government Cambodia’s policies programs aimed improving agricultural economic Cooperation;
- Fair verbal and writing in English
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Good knowledge in computer skill of Ms Office and Outlook email
